A drooling dog is no anomaly, but when your canine’s slobber starts becoming a slipping hazard, you may wonder what the cause is.
Dogs drool for many reasons. The act can indicate stress, car sickness, dental or digestive problems, poisoning, or even a splinter from chewing your wooden furniture.
Some breeds tend to be natural droolers because the skin around their mouths and jaws is very loose. If your canine companion is an English Bulldog, Bullmastif, or Saint Bernard, you probably know to keep plenty of paper towels around.
The important thing to watch out for is sudden excessive drooling. If your pooch has this problem, it’s time to pay a visit to your veterinarian.
